VIVID CREATIVE SYDNEY S&L TALK THAT NEVER HAPPENED

S&L were asked to talk at Vivid's Creative Sydney event at the Opera House in April. Unfortunately, LAN airways - an airline we would hesitate to recommend - held us up in Santiago Chile for three days whilst on the way home from a job. We thank Jess Scully for the opportunity and LAN airline for nothing.

In Hawaii the S&L media team had an on the spot opportunity to film some IBA legends at a noisy and dastardly lit hotel banquet. This is one of our favourites as Hawaiian Haouli Reeves tries to explain what it's like to ride the tube of a wave. And yeah he really is Keanu's cousin.

RATINGS HIT ALL-TIME HIGH THANKS TO BRAZIL NUTS AND OTHER GOOD PEOPLE OF THE SOUTH AMERICAS

Late May saw S&L's crew head to Arica in Northern Chile for the IBA World Tour third's stop. Record ratings were recorded, due to high viewership in South American countries where timezones were a good fit with that of the live event in Arica. Shout outs to Benny from Redbull Media House in Austria, YoYo our flawless driver/host, Josemiguel, Ernesto and Tom our Peruvian crew members for Chile. REG MOMBASSA, THE PEOPLE'S CHOICE AT SEMI-PERMANENT SYDNEY 2011

S&L recently covered Semi-Permanent Sydney, briefed to create a montage cut of all speakers and locked off TED style recordings for use on programs such as ABC's Big Ideas who are looking to play the talk of iconic Australian musician and artist, Reg Mombassa seen above.

SECOND STOP, BOX TICKED IN MARGARET RIVER WEST AUSTRALIA

In April the S&L crew headed to Western Australia for the second stop on the IBA World Tour, above is the highlights package which is produced directly after for release. The highlights packages are one element of a crossover media production S&L heads up. This includes a live broadcast for Redbull TV in Europe and Fuel TV in Australia which S&L plugs into it's cameramen and directs the switch with another technical team, Wavestreamers. S&L also works with Premium Media in creating the VNR feeds for global news networks and also directs and produces the 26min international cut for the media distribution people at Beyond Action. We'll post a complete reel of these elements shortly.

SURFING MAGAZINE HIDDEN CUP TEST

Our friends at Surfing Mag in Cali briefed us on a new circular look with their art director Chato Aganza, who referenced some retro Philip Glass builds. Challenge was to use the circles around a rectangular logo. To work in an idea to the build and to make a reveal possible we storyboarded a hidden cup reveal of the logo. The contents page was also given a new circular build as can be seen. Click on the links for April and May here.

S&L MAHALOS DA PEOPLE OF HAWAII

S&L recently returned from Hawaii, the location for the first stop on the world tour and S&L's first live HD TV broadcast. Page views were over 1,000,000 via Redbull.tv and Ibaworldtour.com, whilst OC-16 in Hawaii played two full eight hour days and Fuel TV picked one full day which was repeated and cut into a hour/ half special for more playback. The views were over four times expected and S&L is grateful for the whole team in bringing it home. S&L's team made over 30 cuts in the two weeks, one of these above. A 26min cut has also been made but is not for public at present.

S&L'S FIRST WORLD TOUR DROP

S&L were fortunate to secure the contract for the 2011 IBA World Tour, kicking off with the first event in Hawaii with a live HD TV broadcast via Time Warner for the Water Channel and webcasted through the folk in Austria at Redbull.tv. S&L would like to welcome in the team, Mitch, Muzz, Todd, Seamus, Mason, Javi, Nacho, Angel, Gregg, Bitz, Alex and Terry.

LUKE NGUYEN'S VIETNAM II FOR SBS TV

Acclaimed cooking show, Luke Nguyen's Vietnam is just launching it's second season on SBS TV. S&L was asked to create the online content to launch with the second series and made 15 separate cuts ranging from an eight-part interview with Luke to Masterclass cooking lessons which were shot in the heart of Sydney's Vietnamese hub, Cabramatta. The music used is an original score by Mark Chivas commissioned by S&L. Big thanks Shelley, Luke and Erik.
